To better serve our customers and support advanced material development, KYmach has expanded its R&D laboratory with three state-of-the-art twin-screw extruders. The upgraded lab enables a wide range of polymer compounding and modification experiments in collaboration with research institutes, universities, and industrial partners.
The primary goal of this expansion is to help customers solve real production challenges and develop solutions that can be scaled from lab trials to industrial production.
Laboratory Capabilities
The laboratory is equipped with three advanced extrusion systems — HK26, HK36, and SK53 — covering experimental needs from small-scale formulation trials to small-batch production validation. Throughput ranges from as low as 2 kg/h to approximately 300 kg/h, enabling seamless transition from R&D to pilot-scale production.
These systems support a wide range of processes, including:
Filling and reinforcement
Polymer alloying
Functional and specialty masterbatch development
Applications go beyond plastics to include pharmaceuticals, food processing, animal feed, and agricultural fertilizers. The systems enable continuous compounding extrusion under controlled conditions.
Equipment Overview
HK26 Experimental Twin-Screw Extruder
The HK26 is a 4th-generation co-rotating twin-screw extruder designed for small-batch compounding and formulation trials. Its integrated and compact design allows easy installation and operation. The system features a Siemens touch-screen control panel and supports direct scale-up to KYmach’s full-size 4th-generation production extruders.
HK36 Experimental Twin-Screw Extruder
With an extended L/D ratio, the HK36 is well suited for high-filler masterbatch development and advanced compounding experiments. It supports both innovation trials and small-batch production, with a typical throughput of 50–100 kg/h.
Both HK26 and HK36 utilize volumetric feeding systems and support pelletizing processes such as water-cooling strand pelletizing and air-cooling conveyor belt pelletizing.
SK53 Standard Production Extrusion Line
The SK53 extrusion line is configured with three loss-in-weight feeders and an automatic feeding system, enabling accurate simulation of real production conditions. Multiple raw materials can be precisely metered and fed independently.
The system supports various pelletizing technologies, including water-cooling strand, air-cooling conveyor belt, water-ring die-face, and underwater pelletizing systems.

KYmach is supported by dedicated R&D and service teams. To provide customers with hands-on evaluation and process validation, we offer year-round on-site trial services, allowing customers to directly assess material performance, processing behavior, and final product quality.
